i faltered when i spoke, i know you noticed it
and i scream into an empty room the government is rigged

cause i wanted to give you a call but i couldn’t
you’ve got words between your teeth
it’s the same as it was but not quite
as the world makes synthetical pleas

innocence falls fast at your fingertips
they say “life’s not fair” it always comes down to this
but i’m gonna die one day knowing i never lived
and you’ll come to my funeral screaming the system is rigged

i wanted to give you a call but i didn’t

i'm begging for synthetical pleas

i think i killed my appetite by complaining
and my family hates me for it
and i’m glued to my phone, it’s a serious problem
